Ooh, look, his guitar is like his last name! And that's it!
I wish Brad Paisley would go away and stop hogging the covers of our guitar magazines.

Down
Now that I've seen Up, I think I can safely say that anyone who doesn't at least enjoy the movie must be either of the undead or some kind of android. Or at least, realistically, can never know happiness.

Do Beatles songs ever make a musical good?
As far as I'm concerned, Across the Universe is Sgt. Pepper the movie with a way bigger budget and a marginally better cast and script. And a whole lot of digital pitch correction.
I really don't care for Julie Taymor's work in general, from what I've seen of it.
And Bono, God, why did it have to be Bono??

Ignorance and squirrels
Sometime last year while riding the train, we overheard the conversation of two little boys playing their DS (I believe it was New Super Mario Bros.). They constantly referred to it as the "Nintendo". Of course, we both thought this was pitifully ignorant of them, maybe even a little stupid.
It would have been nice to go up and tell them that they should call it the "DS", and that "the Nintendo" is really only used to refer to the NES. But of course, you just can't do that sort of thing these days. They probably never heard about the NES. I wonder if they even know what New Super Mario Bros. is inspired by. Did they ever wonder about the "new" in the title? Even then, why not call it the DS anyway? Don't they realize that "Nintendo" is the company that makes it, not the name of the thing?
This is an odd request, but if anyone's reading this, does anyone have a better copy of this image?:
